Festool is a German manufacturer of power tools. Festool Group GmbH & Co. KG is a subsidiary of TTS Tooltechnic Systems and is headquartered in Wendlingen. It is well-known for its system-based approach to power tools and the emphasis it places on dust extraction. Fezer & Stoll was established in 1925 by Gottlieb Stoll and Albert Fezer as Fezer & Stoll. The company created the world’s first portable chainsaw in 1927. The company’s name was shortened to Festo in 1933. Festo Tooltechnic was established in 1992 by Festo, and the power tool division was spun off into its own company, Festool, in 2000. Gottlieb Stoll’s family continues to own the company.
