Using trigger or paddle, the 2 toggle setup allows the user to choose grip positions. With a single LED job light that is useful for working in dark conditions for pre glow and afterglow features. The DJR105DZ achieves up to 3000 strokes per minute with a much more powerful brushless engine.  Blade changes are fast with the tool-less blade-changing mechanism.

One of the first recent 10.8V platforms Makita is the JR105D. This is the improved variant of the extremely dependable JR102D, which now has slide-on Compact eXtreme Technology Batteries (not included). Makita 10.8 V Reciprocating Saw blade screw clamp works on both reciprocating and jigsaw knives. The two-switch configuration allows the user to choose between the trigger and paddle grip positions. With a single LED job light that has pre-glow and after-glow modes, it's ideal for operating in low-light situations.
